Die cutting
Die Cutting refers to Irregularly shaped types of print created through the process of extracting non-square shapes from sheets of paper using a pre produced cutting tool, into which shaped blades are partly embedded. The process is generally employed on paper and board, although started out being used with leather. The complexity and level of detail of the desired final shape contribute to the cost of the process, due to time implications and number of blades involved. Die cutting makes intricate and unusual shapes more viable to create, although careful planning is crucial at the design stage – something our design team are only too happy help with. We aim to add instant value and functionality to everything we produce and the eye catching impact of innovative die cutting techniques helps us to do this.

Foiling, Embossing
& Debossing
These remain some of our most widely requested finishing services. They allow our client base to create bespoke & interactive promotional products. An effective method of marking out products from those created using traditional techniques, the quality they convey will in turn attract quality clients and collaborators. Our service is flexible and can also cater for unorthodox design briefs if our clients require it.
Foiling
Foiling is the process of adhering a metallic looking film to the surface of paper, board, plastic sheet, leather and many other materials. An engraved metal block is used to push an adhesive backed foil onto a sheet, via pressure and heat. We believe uncoated papers work most effectively, as these give the greatest contrast between gloss foils and the matt and use the best quality copper dyes for an arresting finish and lasting effect. Multilevel and sculptured dyes add a further level of visual impact.
Foiling allows a more limited colour pallet than the pantone swatch range, but this is countered by the wide range of other options available. We use many different foils, metallic and pigment colours, patterned holographic and security foils, satin and matt versions, along with pearls and brushed effects
Embossing
Embossing refers to when a readable image is pressed upwards, creating a raised 3D impression against a background which stands out from the page. It is often used to give texture to printwork and can help to emphasise key focal areas. Embossing combined with foiling can result in light being thrown in different directions to give an elegant effect to a wide range of printed materials.
Our master embossers are well versed in what it takes to create the perfect product. They take pride in their work, staying true to long standing tried and trusted creative techniques and ensuring your clients reach for a second touch of your memorable marketing materials.
We offer gold, silver, transparent in -filled stamping, blind embossing, or hot-foiled embossing.Which method of embossing used will depend entirely on the suitability of the nature of the material and the complexity of your design or inscription. Allow us to inspire you by creating uniquely contoured, 3 dimensional raised patterns for you and transform you marketing materials into something spectacular.
Blind embossing is where the the reverse indented side of the emobossed sheet is hidden from sight by attaching it to a second sheet. This process requires no foiling or printing.
Debossing
Debossing is the more cost effective option, as it only requires one plate to be made. It involves sinking the readable image down into the surface of the material, creating recessed relief images and designs in paper or board.
Hot foil
Printing
This is a perfect way of enhancing both litho and digital printing, providing depth and adding life to an image while covering a much wider range of materials in comparison to ink. It is also not prohibitively expensive on short runs.
Hot foil printing ensures your message jumps off the page, providing true decorative appeal and allowing designers greater scope for enhancement of their designs via bright or subtle finishes.
Gold and silver are the most common, but there are lots of shades, satin and effect foils too. We have an impressive range of pigmented, holographic and security foils, while also offering Pearl foiling, Clear Gloss or Matt foiling and many more matt, pearlescent, diffraction, and glossy finishes.
Foiling is also an environmentally friendly process, using no solvents or inks and therefore not producing any harmful vapors.
